Shaka Zulu by Angela K Robinson

Shaka Zulu a great and powerful king.

A mighty warrior, a leader among men.

Flanked by his subjects in hundreds and thousands,

The fighting Impis of men that are loyal.

Warriors chosen for their bravery and skill,

Would fight to the death for their king royal.

Dressed for battle they stand proud without fear,

With massive shields and gleaming spear.

The fierce commander in his overpowering height,

Dressed in leopard skins, a magnificent sight.

As he thrust his assegai towards the African sky,

Thousands of voices through the valley reverberated.

Bayette! Bayette! Shaka Zulu, we hail thee great king!

Impis - Regiments of soldiers

Bayette - A traditional salute accorded to Zulu Kings.

What If by Angela K Robinson

What if - I said

I should,

I would,

I could.

But then I didn't.

What if -

I had a wish, to make just anything happen,

I'd wish the sea was lemonade

And the earth a great big muffin.

But then I shouldn't.

What If -

I could be a fierce dragon with eyes like burning coals,

With terrible scales and out of my mouth shoot

Fiery flames and smoke from my nostrils pour.

But then I wouldn't.

What if -

I were an astronaut and had my very own spaceship,

Then I could travel through the galaxy,

To land upon the planet Mercury

And there with an alien have a cup of piping hot tea.

But then I couldn't.

What if -

If - is such a tiny word but it can mean just anything.

What if!
